Project: ASCENT

Challenge
Aerostudies approached Advantcomp with the concept of developing a comprehensive E-Learning application that would satisfy the cost concerns of small businesses but be scalable enough for larger enterprises. The solution would require seven different types of users and a complex mapping system to load extremely specific content. The solution would also require the ability to load the application on a remote server setup from an installer disk.

Solution
Advantcomp put together a design team that completely mapped out the architectural specification of the project. From architectural map, the design specs were developed, including user interface, work-flow, and logic paths. The application was completely specified for the customer to see before any code was developed.

"We were completely blown away when we saw the designs," said Geoff Falconar, President of Aerostudies. "We didn't know what to expect before we came, but when we left, we knew we were going in the right direction."

From this design, minor tweaks were made that allowed the code team to begin developing the background engine of the applcation. "This was an extemely complex system made simple for the user," said Eric, principle developer at Advantcomp. "Development was easy because we knew what the end product was before we started."

The Ascent solution was delivered to an extremely satisfied Boeing customer.
